Many venture capitalists gravitated towards what was perceived as low cost Web 2.0 startups only to find their investments go down with the economy. It is now an opportune time for VC’s to start taking a fresh look at companies that are developing breakthrough technologies and have a global perspective. To kick-start these new investments President Obama would need to implement his tax plan for reduced capital gains taxes on investments in emerging growth companies.
